Whether you are by yourself or with a buddy or planning a group trip to Alaska, we have a fly fishing camp that will be an experience of a life time.
Our camp is limited to three or four people per camp guide and offer you unlimited personal attention with your instructor/guide. If you have just started fly fishing or you just want to brush up on your fly fishing technique, this camp is for you. If you have never touched a fly rod in your life, this camp is definately for you.
What is the Alaska Fly Fishing Adventures' camp all about?
We teach you everything from fly casting to tying all your flies and knots that you need to know for successful fly fishing anywhere. We teach you fly fishing stratigies, knowing when and where to find fish and what times are the best to come to Alaska to fly fish. You will learn how to safely fish streams and rivers using practical sense rules with the Alaska wildlife without danger of life or limb. You will learn all about your fly fishing equipment, fly lines leaders and tippet. You will become proficant in dry and wet fly fishing as well as nymphing with wet weighted flies using a high stick method of drift fishing.
At Alaska Fly Fishing Adventures, we set you up either in our lodge or in a wall tent on our wooded property in Sterling Alaska. You enjoy wonderful hardy Alaskan breakfasts each morning where you wake up smelling the coffee and bacon before you even get out of bed. Lunch and dinner is also provided for you each day.
The days start out in a class room and end up out on the Kenai River or Russian River near by. You will experience a drift boat trip down the Kenai River as well as fly fishing in gin clear water of the Russian River or fly fishing for near by Grayling after a short hike. You will be fishing for wild rainbow trout or wild salmon, depending on what salmon are running the time of your camp, Sockeye Salmon in June and Sockeye and Silver and Pink Salmon in August or September.
Evenings are spent tying flies or just sitting around chatting about fly fishing at the camp fire pit. You will be in a setting that is relaxing, secluded and feeling remote from the rest of the world around us your entire stay with us.
All you need to bring is your chest waders, rain gear, fishing vest, a sleeping bag and pillow. We provide all of your fly fishing tackle, rods and reels and flies.
